ABOUT US

Why do we use animals as a metaphor to symbolise students ?

Animals are distinctly different from one another, whether it's in terms of appearance, habits, and even the type of food they must consume in order to survive.

Other than that, they can also be divided into different types of categories, such as mammals, birds, fish and reptiles.

Although all humans have the same physical characteristics, their personalities and interests vary from one another. But this cannot be differentiated by eye alone , but must be observed carefully with time.

Most teachers and parents fail to understand that their children are unique individuals, and treat them the way other people treat their children and assume that all children must go down the same beaten path.

They also want them to follow society's expectations and dismiss the out-of-line behaviour of the children as "inappropriate" or "weird", when that is just part of who they are.

The truth is, all children are unique individuals born with differing gifts, and should be accepted and applauded for their quirkiness, instead of being punished for it.

In fact, their quirkiness is their superpower.
Teachers and parents must embrace their children's superpower, so that they can reach their full potential.

Many different students want to learn about the world in their own unique, quirky ways.
But with so many students from different backgrounds, races , cultures and experiences, it's hard to tend to every single student's needs and interests and provide a personalised learning experience for each and every student.

But, this particular classroom managed to succeed in this seemingly impossible task.

So, how do we personalise education effectively for every student ?
We deprive our teaching and learning methods from the MBTI ( Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ), which showcases 16 distinctly different types in total !

By dividing our quirky students into different types, we can then easily tailor the learning materials according to the needs of each type of student.
And by understanding the characteristics of each type, we can then focus on their strengths, and use them to empower their education.
