Identifying you or someone's type

Every person is different, and people with very strong preferences are easier to identify than people with less strong preferences.

Don’t have strong opinions on what is the best way to be , or have false assumptions about certain preferences , as we are simply trying to discover the true nature of each person.

Even if you dislike the person's preference or type, you can't do much to change it, so might as well just accept it.

After all, you can't force a fish or an elephant to fly like a bird, right ?

The more familiar you become with type, the easier it will be to find you or someone's true type.

Geez, I'm a dinosaur, but others want me to be a chick instead...

Ways to verify a person’s type :

Use the preferences to ‘estimate’ the person’s type, and the full type profiles to ‘verify’ their type. You may need to read more than 1 profile to be sure.
Always start with those preferences you feel most sure of, and eliminate other options without the preference.
Read the profiles of the types with the confirmed preferences , and identify the one with the better match. For example, if you are 101% sure that person is an Introvert and a Thinker, read the profiles of the types containing "I" and "T".
If you're still not sure, read the temperaments to further confirm.
Caution : Not every word in a profile may accurately describe someone . Each of us are unique individuals , so all people of the same type will have a lot in common but won’t be 100% identical.
Instead, find the profile that is most similar to the person. For example, if the ENFP profile is 60% similar, but the ESFP profile is 70% similar , then choose ESFP as his/her type.
Typing someone may take some time and practice. The important thing is to remain open to the process and be patient. You must allow room for new information about an individual's personality.
Take note ; some people may fake their preferences to please others or create a 'better' image of themselves . For example, many introverts force themselves to talk to strangers , put on a friendly and bubbly mask, and still remain talkative even after long hours of socialising. Therefore, you must really understand the person in order to type them correctly.
To understand a person more, you can take time to observe them, ask them questions or ask their parents or close friends about them.
