ESTJs as Children and Students

  • Eager, active and busy

  • Often fidgety and wiggly, tend to be calmed and delighted by movement

  • Like swinging, rocking or being carried

  • Happy to be at the centre of activity in their homes

  • Become more energised and wide awake with increased interaction

  • Make friends very easily and are quick to initiate play or join in with other children

  • Like to be the boss, assume leadership roles very early on

  • Like to be part of the preparation for events , esp holidays or other special occasions

  • Have a strong, commanding and loud voice, often admired by their peers

  • Just seem to know exactly what to do at all times and the right way to do it, and other children tend to follow them

  • Feel very proud of themselves when they master the skill of self-care

  • Have great memories for detail, like repeated activities

  • Like large motor play, quick to learn to pull themselves up to stand, climb and run

  • Do not usually cry easily or frequently, tend to not discuss their feelings freely and are rather matter-of-fact about their emotions

  • Hate to be treated unfairly

  • Are easily able to express their needs and frustrations

  • Like order and structure, want to know the rules, and are not fond of surprises and changes

  • Often ask what the plan is and want to know what time things will happen

  • May be angry with other children who do not follow the rules

  • Tend to enjoy playing games with predictable endings

  • Love the large numbers of people, all the friends they make easily, and the structure and predictability of a daily schedule

  • Hardworking, productive students who like to please the teacher and help out around the classroom

  • Enjoy working with other students and excel at group work

  • Literal and practical , do well in subjects that require memorization or mastery of skills

  • Like to be in charge

  • Like team sports, listen well to instructions, follow directions and are quick learners of physical skills

  • More likely to engage in hobbies or other activities that are shared by others whom they know or that have been demonstrated to them by someone they know and trust

  • Organized, efficient and responsible
